Flamenco guitar Francisco Barba 1975 “Arlequín”

This flamenco guitar has been made by the great luthier Francisco Barba in 1975. He is regarded as one of the best guitar makers ever and his guitars have been (and are) praised and used by some of the best guitarists in the world: Niño de Pura, Manuel Molina, Rafael Riqueni, Pepe Habichuela… and so many others.

This flamenco guitar is a special order from Jose Luis Parreño Cano to Francisco Barba. This unique instrument has been made with top quality woods. The top is half Canadian cedar, half German spruce. The back and sides are made of Brazilian rosewood and curly maple, making it all a shocking first impression, looking like an harlequin, where light and dark colors overlap. The edging work details and finishing are simply perfect.

The sound coming out of this magnificent guitar has very particular nuances, where you can really tell this is the characteristic timbre of this fine guitar maker. The selected combination of different woods achieves the different touches of each kind of wood. Dry and bright cedar, sweetness and deepness of spruce, scope and sustain of Brazilian rosewood, and the quick response typical of maple guitars.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is middle, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard is perfectly balanced, providing us with a high degree of comfort for both hands.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completely original, without any crack or repair whatsoever.
