Flamenco guitar Manuel Reyes 1974

This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Manuel Reyes in 1974. His guitars are regarded as pieces of work, and him, as one of the greatest luthiers ever. In fact, his guitars have been (and are) played by some of the best performers ever: Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Jose Luis Postigo, Manolo Franco, and so many others.

The woods employed are marvelous. The German spruce in the top has got a perfectly straight and even grain. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, which is perfect in every single sense. The finish is typical of Manuel Reyes: simple and elegant.

The sound coming out of this guitar is spectacular. The basses are as powerful as deep. The trebles are crystal clear, with a great scope. On balance, we are talking about a sound with its own personality, very flamenco, perfect for a concert or as a complement for singing and dancing.

The tension is middle, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard is just perfect, all of which provides the guitarist with a very high degree of comfort for both hands.

The condition of the guitar is very good, it has some two cracks and one small fissure in the back, all perfectly repaired and documented in the attached images.
