Flamenco guitar Manuel Reyes 1990

This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Manuel Reyes in 1990. His guitars are regarded as pieces of work, and him, as one of the greatest luthiers ever. In fact, his guitars have been (and are) played by some of the best performers ever: Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Jose Luis Postigo, Manolo Franco, and so many others.

This guitar has been part of the maestro Josemi Carmona personal collection. He has used it in stages, recordings and in his private life.

The woods of this guitar are marvellous. The German spruce top has got a perfectly even and straight grain. The back and sides are made of cypress, also with a high-quality straight grain. The finishes are the typical in Manuel Reyes work: simple but elegant.

Its sound is extraordinary, with deep basses, and well-defined and vivid trebles, all of which makes a very balanced set of qualities with a unique sound quality, maintaining an identical tone and volume in every single note along the fingerboard.

The tension is medium, very comfortable for both hands, due to the reduced height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard.

Its condition is very good and completely original, only has two tiny fisures in the lower side practically indistinguishable, perfectly repaired and documented in the attached images. The shellac on the soundtop has been slightly repolished by the master luthier Maximiano Fontiveros.
