Alper Kargin, Turkish passion in Solera Flamenca
Recently, in March of this year, 2017, we launched a new production with the Turkish guitarist Alper Kargin. With this new work, we keep making this hailed section bigger and bigger. Besides, it will go on growing, thanks to the priceless collaboration of our artists.
Born in Istanbul, his musical career began at the age of 15 playing in different musical groups, as well as accompanying renowned artists from his country. Despite being an artist with knowledge and interest in different musical styles, flamenco has always been his passion. He studied in Bilgi University with full scholarships where he studied jazz with great maestros, such as Donovan Mixon or Ricky Ford. After graduating from Bilgi University, he continued his academic career at Haliç University, getting a master's degree in music.
His latest projects have been concerts, mostly. A tribute to Paco de Lucía and a tour accompanying the Maestro Jose Monje "Serranito" around Turkey. At the moment he is preparing his first solo album, meaning to merge Turkish music and jazz with flamenco as a common style. A really interesting proposal which is sure to be excellently reviewed.
From Solera Flamenca we would like to wish him the best of luck in his musical career, as this superb guitarist is also a humble and warm man who is all heart, all of which is reflected on his music and his playing style.
Now we will show you this new production of Solera Flamenca with the maestro Alper Kargin, accompanied by the percussion of José Córdoba "Moskito", a bulería called "La Bulería Turca" , recorded with a guitar from the craftsman José González López 2016, an incredible guitar, made by one of the best makers nowadays, with a powerful and extremely flamenco sound, just like our protagonist… ENJOY IT!
