This flamenco guitar has been made by the master luthier Felipe Conde, in his workshop, located in 4 Arrieta Street, 2020. Felipe Conde is currently the greatest representative of one of the most prestigious firms of Spanish guitar in history: Hermanos Conde. It is inevitable, just like when we talk about Hermanos Conde we all recall Paco de Lucía with his inseparable guitar from this firm, the same as Pepe Habichuela, Moraito Chico, Cepero, and an endless list of artists who captivated us with their music, born from pure genius and inspiration, where the instrument plays an essential role in the musician´s creative process. Well, this is precisely the secret of the firm. Hermanos Conde succeeded in instilling a very characteristic sound into their guitars. It was different from all the other ones, which the great musicians of that time loved, so the artist felt deeply linked to that sound when they composed and interpreted their music.
On Solera Flamenca we would like to present to our customers the new flamenco guitar model by luthier Felipe Conde: a model which accurately reproduces maestro Paco de Lucia´s guitar, which accompanied him for most of his career. With the same woods and template as the very original instrument, this guitar was made by the firm Hermanos Conde in 1975. This is an exact replica of Paco de Lucia´s favourite guitar. A guitar which, thanks to Felipe Conde´s hands, has been reproduced down to the smallest detail. (SEE NEWS)
The woods employed for this guitar is German spruce for the top and Pauferro for back and sides. The top has got a very marked, straight and even grain along its whole surface. The back and sides are made of Pauferro wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty. The original plantilla and solera used for the making of this guitar, along with the most accurate tools available at present, have resulted in an unbeatable guitar, capable of making us feel and remember the music of the “Maestro” artist on our own hands.
The sound is truly incredible; Felipe Conde has managed to create an exact replica of Maestro Paco de Lucia’s guitar. In terms of tone, color, and sound quality, they are practically indistinguishable. This flamenco guitar has belonged to the guitarist Pepe Fernández. Since he acquired it in 2020 at Solera Flamenca, this guitar has accompanied him in all his performances and recordings to date. A truly extraordinary guitar with “many hours and experiences” behind it, which have undoubtedly contributed to shaping and refining its sound to the point that, when we saw it again, we couldn’t believe it. Its extraordinary volume, overwhelmingly flamenco character, and its “dry” and “hollow” timbre… it has it all! And in a relatively new guitar that has been very well cared for by the maestro. Without a doubt: A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY.
The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard is very reduced, providing us with a high degree of comfort for both hands.
Its condition is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever.
