This flamenco guitar has been made by the great luthier Francisco Barba in 1992. He is regarded as one of the best guitar makers ever and his guitars have been (and are) praised and used by some of the best guitarists in the world: Niño de Pura, Manuel Molina, Rafael Riqueni, Pepe Habichuela… and so many others.
A guitar that was made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Francisco Barba’ s guitars. Made with woods of very special quality, and beautiful edging work details. the sound top is made of German spruce, with an even and straight grain on the entire surface. The back and sides are made of beautiful cypress tree, with a straight and homogeneous veining, specially ordered by Jose Luis Parreño, a very close friend of Francisco Barba.
This guitar has belonged to Maestro Pedro María Peña, who ordered it directly from Francisco Barba’s workshop, as the dedicatory on the inner label proves, being used regularly all along his career.
The sound emerging from this guitar possesses some special features and nuances, where the flamenco touch from this luthier can be definitely found. The basses are deep and bright with an extraordinarily powerful, the trebles are vivid and crystal clear, attaining a very long sustain. All those features make a piece of work with unique sound quality that sublimely combines power volume and quality.
The tension of this flameco guitar is medium, and the height of the strings in the saddle and fingerboard really balanced, which provides us with a high degree of comfort for both hands.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is very good, and completely original. It only has a small and superficial crack on the external part of the top, and another one on the side, none of which require any repair whatsoever, as their their location is not critical and they are not serious cases at all.
