Frederico Vannini “El Rana” presents his new bulería “Trulera” at Solera Flamenca

At Solera Flamenca, we are delighted to present “Trulera”, a brand-new bulería composed and performed by the outstanding guitarist Frederico Vannini “El Rana”, recorded in our facilities using a magnificent guitar handcrafted by the renowned luthier Geoff Rashe.

Frederico Vannini, artistically known as “El Rana”, is a Brazilian guitarist with a musical personality that defies categorization. Influenced by bossa nova from an early age, he soon discovered flamenco, which became his true passion. His remarkable talent earned him first place in the entrance examinations for the Flamenco Guitar Degree at ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya), where he studied under the renowned guitarist Rafael Cañizares.
His approach to the guitar is the result of a highly personal blend of influences. The strength and character of his playing evoke great flamenco masters such as Tomatito, while his harmonic language and improvisational sensitivity draw inspiration from jazz legends like Kenny Burrell. The result is a distinctive style that is elegant, expressive, and deeply musical.

Throughout his career, Frederico has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists including Jorge Pardo, Chicuelo, Rycardo Moreno, Karen Lugo, Rita Payés, María José Llergo, Jordi Bonell, Jordi Gaspar, Albert Bover, Joan Amargós, Kid Andersen, Curtis Salgado, Rick Estrin, Fernando Noronha and Fred Sunwalk, among many others. His collaborations reflect an extraordinary versatility and an effortless ability to move between flamenco, jazz and blues.
For the recording of “Trulera”, Frederico chose a guitar built by Geoff Rashe, one of today’s most respected flamenco guitar makers and a master luthier with whom Solera Flamenca has worked closely for many years. His guitars are renowned for their powerful yet balanced sound and exceptional tonal richness, qualities that perfectly complement the expressiveness and energy of Frederico’s performance.
The result is a performance full of strength, sensitivity and freshness, where composition, interpretation and instrument come together to create a bulería with a unique personality. “Trulera” not only showcases the remarkable talent of Frederico Vannini “El Rana”, but also highlights the outstanding qualities of a guitar built by Geoff Rashe, capable of meeting the demands of a guitarist of this caliber with remarkable ease.
At Solera Flamenca, we have supported Geoff Rashe’s work for many years because we firmly believe he is one of those exceptional builders destined to take his place among the great names of contemporary guitar making. It is no coincidence that leading flamenco guitarists such as Diego del Morao and Jerónimo Maya, among others, already rely on his instruments both in the recording studio and on stage.

One detail that speaks volumes about the quality of Geoff Rashe’s guitars is that Frederico chose this instrument to perform “Trulera” without requiring any adaptation period beforehand. Every professional guitarist knows how unusual it is to feel completely comfortable with an unfamiliar guitar from the very first moment. Yet the extraordinary playability, flawless setup and perfect balance of Geoff Rashe’s guitars allow a musician of this level to focus entirely on the music from the very first note.
We invite you to enjoy the video and experience a performance that beautifully captures the meeting of an exceptional musician and a guitar crafted by one of today’s finest luthiers.
