Flamenco guitar Geoff Rashe 2023

This flamenco guitar was made by the master guitar maker Geoff Rashe, 2023. Geoff Rashe understood the fusion of art and science since he was really young. First, as an Applied Maths student, at California University (San Diego). Then, he moved to the design and making of surfboards, while he was studying to get his Literature degree. Surf and his study of Spanish language led him to moving to Spain in 1990, starting an everlasting relationship with Spanish art and music, and very particularly, with the flamenco guitar. When he made his first guitar, he felt he had found his true vocation. As it was impossible to find master luthiers to teach him in California, he started an obsessive search for guitars made by the very best luthiers in history. Eventually, he collected some of the best instruments made by Manuel Ramírez, Santos Hernández, Domingo Esteso, Hermanos Conde, Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes and Marcelo Barbero. He studied these instruments down to the tiniest detail. In fact, he considered these luthier his own mentors. Currently, Geoff Rashe lives in his hometown: Santa Cruz, California. SEE NEW

The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.

Once again, Geoff Rashe amazes us with an instrument that embodies everything we, just like any professional or art and sound enthusiast, seek in a flamenco guitar. This artisan has managed to capture the essence of the legendary guitars made by Marcelo Barbero and encase it within a new instrument. Undoubtedly, we are in the presence of one of the top five luthiers of our time and the history of flamenco guitar. The sound that emanates from this guitar exceeds all expectations: Its flamenco tone is sensational, with that distinctive ‘hollow’ effect, which is especially noticeable in strumming. Its projection and resonance become palpable through the vibrations that resonate throughout the instrument.

This guitar has the highly-valued “rebound beating” on the right hand, combined with fantastic softness on the left one, thus accomplishing the “perfect instrument”, should we want to spend hours and hours playing non-stop with a nice feeling of ease.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is new.
