This flamenco guitar was made by the master guitar maker Geoff Rashe, 2023. Geoff Rashe understood the fusion of art and science since he was really young. First, as an Applied Maths student, at California University (San Diego). Then, he moved to the design and making of surfboards, while he was studying to get his Literature degree. Surf and his study of Spanish language led him to moving to Spain in 1990, starting an everlasting relationship with Spanish art and music, and very particularly, with the flamenco guitar. When he made his first guitar, he felt he had found his true vocation. As it was impossible to find master luthiers to teach him in California, he started an obsessive search for guitars made by the very best luthiers in history. Eventually, he collected some of the best instruments made by Manuel Ramírez, Santos Hernández, Domingo Esteso, Hermanos Conde, Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes and Marcelo Barbero. He studied these instruments down to the tiniest detail. In fact, he considered these luthier his own mentors. Currently, Geoff Rashe lives in his hometown: Santa Cruz, California. SEE NEW
The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.
Once again, we are filled with joy to present a guitar crafted by this talented artisan. The feeling of holding in our hands an instrument that bears such a marvelous resemblance to Marcelo Barbero’s guitars, and yet being brand new, still surprises us. Without a doubt, we stand before one of the finest guitar makers of our time and of history in general. The sound that emanates from this guitar exceeds any imaginable expectation. In my opinion, the strumming is the best I have ever experienced on a new guitar. Its beautiful flamenco tone with that distinctive “hollow” effect and a resonating sensation in the bass, with a power felt in the chest, transmitting vibrations throughout the entire instrument, while the high notes are rich and enveloping, making this instrument a unique and extraordinary piece.
This guitar has the highly-valued “rebound beating” on the right hand, combined with fantastic softness on the left one, thus accomplishing the “perfect instrument”, should we want to spend hours and hours playing non-stop with a nice feeling of ease.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is new.
