This flamenco guitar was made in 1987 by Gerundino Fernández, a prestigious guitar maker, born in Almería. He is regarded as one of the best guitar makers ever, despite the facts of being self-taught and leading a bohemian life in his last years. His guitars have been present in stages all over with guitar performers like Paco Peña, Tomatito, Raimundo Amador…
The different kinds of wood used in its manufacturing are of an extraordinary quality, the sound top is made of German spruce, with an even and straight grain on the entire surface. The back and sides are made of beautiful cypress tree, with a straight and simple veining.
The sound has an astonishing quality, with outstanding flamenco character. The basses are deep and with a truly beautiful percuted sound. The trebles are crystalline and powerful, with a great projection and sustain.
This flamenco guitar has got middle tension, and a perfect height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.
The conservation condition of this guitar is really good. It has three fissures in the sound top, two of them repaired with a graft. The inferior part of the body side has a practically undistinguishable fissure. All the fissures are perfectly repaired and documented in the attached images.
