Flamenco guitar Gerundino Hijo 2018 Mod. Especial nº3

This flamenco guitar was made by the luthier Gerundino Fernández Llamas, son of the great maker Gerundino Fernández, in 2018. Born in 1974 in Almería, he started helping his father with guitar making since he was really young. He helped with tasks such as sanding woods, put pawns, glue bottoms and tops, etc). His link with wood goes beyond guitar making. That is, he knows a lot about this material, since he used to go with his uncle Eladio Fernández for spotting, cutting and selecting the best woods, which his father would later employ for his guitar making. For several years he devoted himself to the in-depth study of the guitar, and to a comprehensive revision of his father´s whole career. In 2015 he decided to continue the family tradition, thus starting to make his own guitars, using the techniques, tools and woods inherited from his father.

This flamenco guitar is made of a very special wood, purchased in Germany by a Spanish firm which does not exist any more. This wood was delivered to Gerundino hijo specifically for the making of this guitar. Both the Brazilian rosewood of back and sides and the Canadian cedar top have an age and a curation and drying process particularly difficult to come across these days. This quality of woods employed, along with the superb job by Gerundino as a master luthier, have accomplished an instrument with extraordinary scope, and really versatile for any of the two genres: classical and flamenco.

This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfectly balanced height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent, without any cracks or repairs.
