Flamenco guitar Conde Hermanos ’60

This flamenco guitar was built by the Conde Hermanos company from Madrid. Despite not being able to distinguish the date on its label, we can affirm that it was built in the 1960s, something we can determine by observing the interior/exterior construction system, the type of varnish, among other details. This is a guitar referred to as “segunda” regarding the woods used for its construction, which are not of the same quality as “primera” or concert guitars. Nevertheless, many professionals of that time used these guitars because their sound was close, and at times, comparable or superior to that of many primera guitars, but at a more affordable price.

The woods that make up this flamenco guitar are surprisingly high in quality, especially considering it is a segunda guitar. The harmonic top, made of German spruce, shows a straight and uniform grain across its entire surface. The cypress used for the back and sides is straight and homogeneous, woods carefully chosen with an optimal drying and curing process.

The sound of this flamenco guitar is truly incredible for a segunda guitar; it emits a sound quality and volume superior to many of the primera guitars from the same maker that we have been able to test over the years. So much so that it has been part of our private collection for some time. Its comfort, playability, and the volume it produces make this instrument the perfect guitar for high-level concerts or accompaniment to cante and baile in any type of flamenco venue.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completely original, without any kind of cracks or repairs whatsoever.
