Flamenco guitar Hermanos Conde 1981

This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Domingo Esteso´s nephews in the emblematic workshop in 7 Gravina Street. This workshop was owned by Faustino and Mariano Conde. Lots of great performers have been in this workshop. For example, Paco de Lucía, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela, and so many others.

This guitar is made of excellent woods, impossible to obtain nowadays. Straight-grained indian rosewood with breathtakingly beautiful shades, as well as German spruce top, also with a straight and even grain endorse the quality of this guitar with plenty of quality and character, typical of Hermanos Conde in that time. The guitar is made with the same combination of woods as the guitar Paco de Lucia employed for most of his career. We have even attached a picture of that guitar so all of you can compare and see for yourselves.

This is one of the Conde guitars which has surprised us most in the last recent years. Acoustically, it is simply incredible, as we find great unique depth in the bass strings, which is the hallmark of this firm, reminding us of the maestro par excellence, Paco de Lucia. The Indian rosewood in back and sides is definitely worth mentioning, with a clearer tone and a lower density than the usual. In fact, it is closer to cypress wood, as it is so quick and flamenco. However, it has the typical scope of a black concert guitar.

This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfect height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is really good and completely original. It only has two small fissures, one in the side and another one in the sound top, and a small break in the headstock, almost invisible and perfectly repaired and reported on the pictures attached. After the repair, it has been varnished again with nitroshellac in the same way, not affecting the original thickness of the wood nor its sound qualities, all of which remain unaltered.
