This flamenco guitar was built by the renowned guitar maker Javier Castaño in 2024. Born in Madrid in 1974, Javier Castaño developed a strong passion for flamenco guitar from an early age and began playing at the age of fourteen. At twenty-two, he began his career as a guitar maker, attending several courses with master luthier Rafael López Porras in Cádiz.

In 2008, he began working fully within the Madrid school of guitar making, a turning point in his career that allowed him to acquire the knowledge and techniques of this great tradition. In 2014, he began working directly with the prestigious Conde Hermanos workshop on Calle Atocha, where he developed his instruments while drawing inspiration from the sound of his great master, Julio Conde.

The woods selected for this guitar are truly exceptional. The soundboard is made of German spruce, featuring a striking, straight and remarkably even grain that reflects its outstanding quality. The sides and back are crafted from exceptionally beautiful and high-quality cypress. The satin matte finish gives the instrument an elegant and understated appearance.

A particularly noteworthy feature is the traditional wooden friction peghead, incorporating an internal mechanism that provides precise and reliable tuning without the drawbacks traditionally associated with old-style wooden tuning pegs. It combines the beauty and character of a traditional peghead with the precision and practicality of a modern mechanical system.

This flamenco guitar has a truly spectacular sound. It offers excellent projection, a fast and precise response, solid and well-defined basses, and clear, bright trebles rich in detail. Its balanced tonal character and unmistakable flamenco voice provide an expressive sound, with precise attack and excellent note separation. Its combination of resonance, dynamics and sustain produces a lively, responsive tone full of personality, equally suited to accompaniment, falsetas and solo playing.

The guitar also offers the highly sought-after “bounce” response under the right hand, combined with exceptional softness under the left hand. This creates an extremely comfortable and effortless playing experience, making it an ideal instrument for spending hours playing without fatigue.

The guitar is in excellent and original condition, with no cracks or repairs of any kind.
