This flamenco guitar was built by the popular José Ramirez signature in 1963, one of the most prolific periods of the firm, which flocked to his shop guitarists worldwide both classical and flamenco, Paco de Lucia, Manolo Sanlucar, Narciso Yepes, Serranito… among many others.
The wood used for the top is german spruce, and spanish Cypress for back and sides. The top has a very accentuated grain, completely straight and uniform. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty. The initials M.M. denote it has been made by master luthier Miguel Malo.
The sound produced by this guitar is truly spectacular, masterfully combining volume and quality. It is certainly more difficult to find guitars from this brand with a spruce top than with a cedar top for the simple reason that far fewer were made. For this reason, whenever we have the opportunity to try or acquire one with a spruce top, we jump at it like children with a toy. The sweetness that the spruceadds to the sound and the flamenco character that the workshop of the Ramírez brand has always known to impart to their guitars make these exclusive instruments a true gem for true guitar lovers and acoustic excellence. Its basses are powerful, large, and with an undeniable flamenco timbre. The trebles are sharp and crystalline with a projection and sound quality from another world.
The action is medium, and the string height at the saddle and fingerboard is low, providing the guitarist with great ease in playing, which is further enhanced by the low weight of this guitar.
The condition is excellent and entirely original. It only has a superficial crack, practically unnoticeable to the eye, on the back, perfectly repaired and documented in the attached images.
