This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Manuel Reyes in 1992. His guitars are regarded as pieces of work, and him, as one of the greatest luthiers ever. In fact, his guitars have been (and are) played by some of the best performers ever: Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Jose Luis Postigo, Manolo Franco, and so many others.
This guitar belonged to Vicente Amigo for five years, using it for special occasions, such as the recording of some tracks in his albums during these five years. This is all exposed and documented on a note Vicente Amigo wrote himself: “This guitar of 1992 was mine for five years. I recorded a few songs from different albums. I hope you like it. Regards”. This note and the pictures will be delivered, along with the guitar.
The different kinds of wood picked for this guitar are really exclusive, impossible to find nowadays. The german spruce of the sound top shows a truly smooth grain, straight and uniform through the entire surface. The back and sides are made of Bazilian rosewood with a straight grain and beautiful colors. The finishes are simply perfect. It is worth mentioning how hard it is to find Manuel Reyes guitars made with such exclusive variety of wood: Jacaranda, a much appreciated variety of Brazilian rosewood. This material was the one used for most of his guitars.
The sound is extraordinary, with an unbeatable character. The basses are powerful, with extraordinary depth. The trebles are crystal clear and bright, with great scope and sustain, and showing a perfect balance between both of them. The “rasgueos” whit this guitar are just unbeatable: it has Reyes´s distinctive timbre, broken and bright, but with the added personality acquired as time goes by, making this sound the quintessence of FLAMENCO.
The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium and the heights of the strings in fingerboard and saddle are perfect, providing us with such a high degree of comfort that one will be delighted.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completely original, without any kind of cracks or repairs whatsoever. The original pickguards have been replaced with new ones because these were partially detached.
