Flamenco guitar Manuel Reyes Hijo 2000

This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Manuel Reyes (son) in 2000. Manuel Reyes Maldonado´s son, he succeeded in learning and developing his father´s teachings, after sharing the workshop, and producing equally good guitars, regarding both the making and sound. It must be remarked the fact that in those first years of learning, those guitars were made by father and son together.

The wood used for the top is German spruce, and spanish Cypress for back and sides. The top has a very accentuated grain, completely straight and uniform. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty.

This flamenco guitar by Manuel Reyes Jr. is a really special instrument because, at this time, Manuel Reyes Sr. participated in the making of these guitars for the purpose of showing his son the secrets and details of construction. This is readily apparent when observing the instrument in detail. The acoustic evolution of these guitars is truly extraordinary and Manuel Reyes is probably one of the guitar makers in which we can observe this phenomenon more noticeably and drastically. The projection and sound quality of this instrument are simply spectacular, with the temperament and timbre characteristic of Manuel Reyes’ best guitars.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard is reduced. The fluidity with which the left hand works across the fingerboard together with the comfort of the touch of the right hand, thanks to a marked ‘rebound effect’, make it one of the most comfortable guitars we have tried over the years.

The condition is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever.
