Flamenco guitar Miguel Rodríguez 1983

This flamenco guitar was made by the legendary guitar maker Miguel Rodríguez in his workshop, located in 15 Alfaros Street (Córdoba) in 1983. His guitars are objects of desire for collectors and performers all around the world because of both its meticulous construction and the personality they have.

The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of canadian cedar has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent. Miguel Rodríguez was extremely selective as regards the choice of the woods for the guitar making. He always seeked for nothing but excellence in acoustics and beauty, which can be appreciated in every single guitar he made all along his career.

We are particularly happy to have found this guitar, as this kind is extremely hard to find (we have only owned two in our lifetime of guitar hunting). Given Pepe Romero’s influence in the United States and his well-known devotion to Miguel Rodriguez’s guitars, most guitars from this era were built for classical and sold outside of Spain. This flamenco guitar has that special and characteristic timbre of Miguel Rodriguez’s guitars; anyone who has heard and experienced it knows what timbre we mean, a broad, very crisp and defined sound, with a volume that eclipses that of most guitars, deep and penetrating basses and with a literally infinite sustain.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard very balanced, achieving a high degree of comfort for both hands.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completly original, without any cracks or repairs.
