This flamenco guitar has been made by master luthier Pedro Muriel in 2022. This guitar maker, based in Herrera (Seville), began his journey into guitar making driven by his deep passion for the flamenco guitar. Throughout his career, and thanks to his constant desire to deepen his knowledge of the art of lutherie, he has had the opportunity to share countless conversations and meetings with some of the greatest guitar makers of our time, including Manuel Reyes and Francisco Barba, from whom he has gained invaluable knowledge and experience. He has also shared a workshop with Francisco Sánchez, where, thanks to the master’s generosity, he has been able to develop and refine his current concept of guitar making. Through his hands have passed guitars built by some of the most important luthiers in history, including Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes, Francisco Barba, Santos Hernández, Antonio de Torres and Marcelo Barbero, among many others. This has enabled him to study their different construction styles in great detail and acquire a profound understanding of the handcrafted guitar, establishing himself as one of today’s most distinguished guitar makers.

The sound of this guitar is spectacular, the combination of Brazilian rosewood (with its corresponding CITES documentation) and cedar, as we have commented on other occasions, is a safe bet which guarantees a big, clear sound with projection, these are qualities which a great concert guitar must have.

This flamenco guitar is absolutely exceptional. Every guitar we receive from this craftsman is awaited with that tingling in the stomach similar to what we used to feel as children on Christmas Eve. Once again we receive an instrument of the highest category in all aspects: construction, touch, ‘pulsation’ (stiffness/softness), sound quality…. Pedro is undoubtedly one of the best craftsmen of our time and his guitars remind us of the best-made guitars by guitar makers such as Miguel Rodríguez or Marcelo Barbero. This guitar has a big sound and a really surprising projection, with a timbre typical of guitars built over 30 years ago. It is very versatile and capable of adapting perfectly to any of the different styles of guitar playing: concert and accompaniment to singing and dancing.

The tension is medium, with a very balanced height between strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing us with a high degree of comfort for both hands.
