Flamenco guitar Hermanos Conde 1990

This flamenco guitar was built by the prestigious Hermanos Conde de Madrid, in the year 1990. After having worked together in 7 Gravina Street, Mariano Conde decided to work on his own in Felipe V Street, Madrid, where he taught his children, Mariano and Felipe Conde, the art of guitar making. These two children learnt so much that they managed to take over the workshop until 2010.

This guitar is made of woods of the highest quality, really hard to find nowadays. The German spruce top shows a really extraordinary grain: thin, perfectly even, full of this “countergrain”, noticeable in the very best guitars, only ocassionally. The cypress wood in back and sides is excellent.

The sound of this flamenco guitar is extraordinary, probably the best Felipe V guitar of this time we have ever had. The basses are so powerful, bright and deep. Trebles are aggressive, with great scope and sustain, emitting a wide variety of harmonics all along the fingerboard.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of strings on saddle and fingerboard, perfectly balanced, provides us with great comfort on both hands. The much appreciated “rebound effect” is noticed on the strings, making things easier when playing.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever. The top is signed by Maestro Paco de Lucía himself, and preserved by means of a small piece of a tailor-made scratchplate.
