Flamenco guitar Pedro Muriel 2018

This flamenco guitar has been made by master luthier Pedro Muriel in 2018. This guitar maker, who lives in Herrera (Sevilla), started in this world due to his great passion for flamenco guitars. It is remarkable to mention that he was Francisco Sanchez de Estepa´s disciple as he learnt this fine art. The best guitar makers´ instruments ever have passed through his hands: Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes, Francisco Barba, Santos Hernández, Marcelo Barbero… among other ones. This experience has provided him with the chance to carefully study the different structures, thus acquiring an extense knowledge in the guitar making art. As a result, he has become established as one of the novice craftsmen with greatest impact. His guitars provide the player with an extraordinarily high quality and unique as well as surprising acoustics.

The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top is made of german spruce, with an outlined grain, straight and smooth, that endorse its exceptional quality. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply perfect, the finishes are elegant and sober.

The sound of this guitar is really surprising. A specially flamenco timbre which is full of personality and character. This instrument has a mature sound, something that definitely evolved, with that “bouqué” the best flamenco guitars acquire along the years. The basses are hoarse and deep, with a somewhat “hollow” sound which we curiously find in its trebles, too. This enhances and counterbalances the overall qualities brilliantly, ultimately, a perfect sound that show us the greatness of this master guitar-maker.

The tension is medium, and the height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, very balanced, all of which provides the guitar with an easy performance and a high degree of comfort for both hands.
