Flamenco guitar Miguel Rodríguez 1985

This flamenco guitar was made by the legendary guitar maker Miguel Rodríguez in his workshop, located in 15 Alfaros Street (Córdoba) in 1985. His guitars are objects of desire for collectors and performers all around the world because of both its meticulous construction and the personality they have.

The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent. The top has been replaced by master luthier Jesús de Jiménez. For this purpose, he used similar woods to the original ones, as regards age and features, respecting Miguel Rodríguez’s fan bracing and making.

The sound of this flamenco guitar shows unbeatable quality and personality. The basses are powerful, with extraordinary depth. The trebles are crystal clear and bright, with great scope and sustain, and showing a perfect balance between both of them. The “rasgueos” whit this guitar are just unbeatable: crystal-clear, broken and bright, but also with this maturity acquired as years go by. It is worth mentioning how, despite not having the original top, this guitar does keep Miguel Rodríguez’s characteristic tone for guitars. This is a virtue made possible by the luthier Jesús de Jiménez, whose great restoration we must be thankful for..

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the heights of the strings in fingerboard and saddle are perfect, providing us with such a high degree of comfort that one will be delighted.

The conservation condition of this flamenco guitar is really good. Apart from the above mentioned information concerning the top, the side has got a crack, which is perfectly repaired and backed up with documentary evidence on the images attached.
