This guitar was built by the legendary master luthier Santos Hernández in 1928. He was Manuel Ramírez´s best disciple, working for him for 23 years. In 1918 he opened his own workshop in 23 Aduana Street. Santos Hernández built around 300 guitars since 1916 until his very death. These guitars were used by many of the greatest guitarists of that time: Ramón Montoya, Andrés Segovia, Sabicas, Niño Ricardo, Regino Sainz de la Maza, etc.
Its sound is really beautiful: hoarse and bright in its bass stops, sweet and crystalline in
its trebles. A guitar with Santos Hernández’s unmistakable signature, with an alive and
deeply flamenco timbre, which has been a model for the great guitarists in the past and
present. Its character, sound quality, warmth and temper, along with its lightness and confort make this fine instrument a true work of art of Spanish guitars. It is no doubt
one of the best guitars we have ever held in our hands, as its fantastic materials and
sound qualities are a model to be followed.
