Flamenco guitar Vicente Carrillo & Juan M. González Mod. Tomatito Aguadulce

This flamenco guitar is made by master luthier Vicente Carrillo, with Juan Miguel González as a collaborator, in 2010. His professional experience comes from the long career of the Carrillos, a family where he is the 7th generation of luthiers, which resulted in being awarded with the Regional Prize of Craftsmanship in Castilla La Mancha, and also at a national level in 2010. His guitars are well-known all around the world, and have been employed by several top performers, such as Juan Manuel Cañizares, Niño Josele, Javier Limón… It is worth mentioning how maestro Paco de Lucia trusted one of his guitars for the recording of one of his works (Cositas buenas).

This guitar is part of a limited and numbered edition of flamenco guitars, which were made in collaboration with maestro José Fernández Torres (aka Tomatito). This guitar model belongs to «Aguadulce» series, which, along with «La Chanca» model, are the top-notch guitars of the four models made («La Chanca», «Aguadulce», «La Cañada» y «Alcazaba»). The woods selected are of a surprisingly high quality. The German spruce top has a really marked, straight and even grain; the back and sides are of cypress of the very best quality, with a really beautiful style and optimal drying.

The sound coming out of this guitar is just spectacular. It combines volume and quality excellently. The bass are powerful and deep, and the trebles, crystal clear and with a great scope. On balance, a real flamenco sound with its own distinctive personality.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium. The height of the strings in the fingerboard and saddle is very balanced, providing us with a high level of comfort for both hands, as well as simplicity for the performance itself.

The condition is really good. It only has a small crack, located on the upper part of the top. However, it is perfectly repaired and shown in the documentary evidence attached.
