This flamenco guitar was made by the luthier Gerundino Fernández Llamas, son of the great maker Gerundino Fernández, in 2024. Born in 1974 in Almería, he started helping his father with guitar making since he was really young. He helped with tasks such as sanding woods, put pawns, glue bottoms and tops, etc). His link with wood goes beyond guitar making. That is, he knows a lot about this material, since he used to go with his uncle Eladio Fernández for spotting, cutting and selecting the best woods, which his father would later employ for his guitar making. For several years he devoted himself to the in-depth study of the guitar, and to a comprehensive revision of his father´s whole career. In 2015 he decided to continue the family tradition, thus starting to make his own guitars, using the techniques, tools and woods inherited from his father.

The different kinds of wood used in its manufacturing are of an extraordinary quality, the sound top is made of German spruce, with an even and straight grain on the entire surface. The back and sides are made of beautiful cypress tree, with a straight and homogeneous veining.

This flamenco guitar is truly impressive. At times, being the “child of” or a descendant of a renowned historical genius is more of a burden than an advantage, as people will always compare your instruments to those of that figure and expect you to reach, or even surpass, a level of excellence that may be unattainable. This creates constant pressure and expectations that can overshadow your own talent or make it difficult for you to be valued on your own merits. In the case of Gerundino Jr., we can confirm, without a doubt, that the level of quality, both acoustic and in craftsmanship, that he has achieved over the years has placed him among the world’s best artisans. This guitar radiates a powerful, grand sound with a projection comparable to the finest concert guitars. It strikes a perfect balance between bass and treble, with spectacular resonance that makes the entire body of the instrument vibrate with each chord.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the heights of the strings in fingerboard and saddle are perfect, providing us with such a high degree of comfort that one will be delighted.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is new.
