Manuel Reyes (Hijo) 2001

This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Manuel Reyes (son) in 2001. Manuel Reyes Maldonado´s son, he succeeded in learning and developing his father´s teachings, after sharing the workshop, and producing equally good guitars, regarding both the making and sound. It must be remarked the fact that in those first years of learning, those guitars were made by father and son together.

The Woods of this guitar are marvellous. The German spruce top has got a perfectly even and straight grain. The back and sides are made of cypress, also with a high-quality straight grain. The finishes are the typical in Manuel Reyes´ work: simple but elegant.

The sound coming out of this piece of work is something worth listening to: powerful and deep basses, the trebles are sweet and smooth, with a sustained sound and unique projection, the harmonics that it produces are truly magic. It makes a very particular kind of sound, as it has got its own character, very flamenco, perfect both for concerts and accompanying singing (“cante”) and dancing (“baile”).

The tension of the guitar is middle, and the height of the strings in saddle and fingerboard perfect, really balanced, which grants the performer a high degree of comfort for both hands.

The condition is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever.
