Flamenco guitar Geoffrey Rashe 2025

This flamenco guitar was built by master luthier Geoff Rashe in 2025. From a young age, Geoff Rashe understood the connection between art and science. First as a student of Applied Mathematics at the University of California, San Diego, he transitioned into designing and building surfboards while completing a degree in General Literature. Surfing and his study of the Spanish language led him to live in Spain in 1990, beginning a lifelong love affair with Spanish art, music, and above all, the flamenco guitar. When he built his first guitar, he felt he had found his true calling. Since it was impossible to find guitar makers in California who could teach him the secrets and traditional methods of construction, he began an obsessive search for guitars built by the greatest flamenco artisans in history. Over time, he collected exceptional examples of the work of Manuel Ramírez, Santos Hernández, Domingo Esteso, the Conde Brothers, Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes, and Marcelo Barbero. He studied these instruments in the finest detail, to the point where he considers these great craftsmen his true teachers. Today, Geoff Rashe lives in his hometown of Santa Cruz, California.

For all these reasons, owning a guitar by Geoff Rashe is not merely holding a high-level instrument in your hands; it is investing in a true masterpiece that will, over time, increase in both artistic and patrimonial value. Today, renowned guitarists such as Maestro Diego del Morao place their trust in his instruments for both live performances and studio recordings. SEE NEWS

The woods used in the construction of this flamenco guitar are of the highest quality and have undergone a long natural drying process. Genuine German spruce was selected for the soundboard, and Spanish cypress for the back and sides. The top shows a straight, uniform grain across the entire surface, while the back and sides are built from cypress of extraordinary beauty and quality.

Once again, Geoff Rashe dazzles us with a guitar that brings together everything professionals and flamenco enthusiasts look for in an instrument. This master luthier has managed to capture the essence of the greatest flamenco guitar makers in history—such as Marcelo Barbero, the Conde Brothers, and Santos Hernández—and channel it into a new, unique creation. Without a doubt, he is one of the five most important flamenco guitar builders of our time and of the instrument’s history.

The sound this guitar produces exceeds all expectations: its flamenco character is remarkable, with that unmistakable “hollow” effect especially present in rasgueado. Its projection and resonance can be clearly felt through the vibrations that travel across the entire body of the guitar.

This guitar offers the much sought-after “rebound” response for the right hand, combined with an extraordinary softness in the left hand, making it the “perfect instrument” for playing for hours without fatigue and with a wonderful sense of ease.

The guitar is in brand new condition.
