Angelita Montoya & José Gálvez: A Magical Night at Solera Flamenca

This week we bring you one of the pieces we had the pleasure of enjoying during the concert by Angelita Montoya, accompanied by maestro José Gálvez on guitar, at the private club “El Rincón de los Flamencos” in Solera Flamenca VILLAGE. A performance where that duende, that magic, emerged — the kind that live flamenco sometimes bestows upon us so spontaneously — and which we’d love to share with all of you.

Angelita Montoya (1971) is part of the legendary Montoya Family, a lineage that, as she herself acknowledges, shaped her as an artist. Daughter of the dancer Juan Montoya and the singer Antonia Rodríguez “La Negra”, she made her debut at just nine years old in the flamenco production “Nuevo Día”, directed by the iconic duo Lole y Manuel. Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with flamenco greats such as Fernanda de Utrera, Chocolate, Chano Lobato, and Camarón de la Isla, and has lent her voice to dancers like Manuela Carrasco, Joaquín Cortés — in his show “Live” — and Pastora Galván in various productions.

José Gálvez has established himself as one of the most versatile artists in the world of flamenco.
His talent shines across many disciplines: guitarist, singer-songwriter, composer, poet, writer, producer, and director.

Bulerías, tangos, tientos, and seguiriyas are just some of the flamenco styles where he showcases his astonishing versatility. His mastery of the toque jerezano — a fusion of tradition and modernity — has allowed him to develop a unique and unmistakable style that is evident in every one of his performances.

His contribution to the flamenco repertoire is unquestionable. Thanks to his instrumental virtuosity and his gift as a composer and lyricist, he has enriched the genre with new melodies and emotionally charged lyrics. The poetic depth of his texts is undoubtedly one of his most valuable contributions to flamenco.

Without further ado, here’s a little taste of the bulería from that magical concert we were lucky enough to experience that night. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did…
LONG LIVE FLAMENCO!
