This flamenco guitar has been made by the master luthier Felipe Conde, in his workshop, located in 4 Arrieta Street, 2018. Felipe Conde is currently the greatest representative of one of the most prestigious firms of Spanish guitar in history: Hermanos Conde. It is inevitable, just like when we talk about Hermanos Conde we all recall Paco de Lucía with his inseparable guitar from this firm, the same as Pepe Habichuela, Moraito Chico, Cepero, and an endless list of artists who captivated us with their music, born from pure genius and inspiration, where the instrument plays an essential role in the musician´s creative process. Well, this is precisely the secret of the firm. Hermanos Conde succeeded in instilling a very characteristic sound into their guitars. It was different from all the other ones, which the great musicians of that time loved, so the artist felt deeply linked to that sound when they composed and interpreted their music.
With this guitar, Felipe Conde pays tribute to the guitar maestro Pepe Habichuela. A model of which only 25 units were built—an exact replica of his favorite guitar, his most treasured gem: a 1986 Hermanos Conde. Thanks to the collaboration of maestro Pepe Habichuela and the skilled hands of Felipe Conde, it has been reproduced down to the finest detail, with the sole exception of the traditional wooden peg tuners, which have been replaced by mechanical pegs, preserving the original aesthetics while improving functionality. The woods employed for this guitar is German spruce for the top and Spanish Royal cypress for back and sides. The top has got a very marked, straight and even grain along its whole surface. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty. The original plantilla and solera used for the making of this guitar, along with the most accurate tools available at present, have resulted in an unbeatable guitar, capable of making us feel and remember the music of the best artists on our own hands. The label is signed by maestro Pepe Habichuela himself.
The sound is truly incredible—Felipe Conde has managed to create an exact replica of maestro Pepe Habichuela’s guitar. In terms of tone, color, and sound quality, they are practically indistinguishable. This guitar delivers a mature, aged sound, with that unique “bouquet” that the finest flamenco guitars develop over the years. Achieving such acoustic characteristics in a new instrument is an exceptionally difficult task and the dream of every luthier—a dream that becomes reality the moment you play this guitar.
The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard is very reduced, providing us with a high degree of comfort for both hands.
Its condition is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever.
