Chicuelo

Juan Gómez ‘Chicuelo’ is one of the most relevant guitarists in the current flamenco scene and, at the same time, one of the most interesting and productive composers of the latest generations. He has worked with Enrique Morente, Miguel Poveda, Duquende, Mayte Martín, Rancapino, La Susi, La Marelu, Chano Lobato, José Mercé, El Cigala, Potito or Carmen Linares. He has also collaborated with jazz musicians, such as Chano Domínguez, Carles Benavent, Jorge Pardo, Jordi Bonell or Raynald Colom, as well as the pianist Maria Joâo Pires.

In year 2000 he released “Cómplices” (Harmonia Mundi), his first álbum as a soloist and from his own creation, which he performs live all around Spain. This work has been awarded the Best Soloist Guitar Album by the Flamenco Awards from the magazine Flamenco Hoy.

In 2007 he released his second album, “Diapasión” (Flamenco Records), also awarded the Best Guitar Album by Flamenco Hoy Awards, going on tour in Spain and other countries several times.
