Flamenco guitar Federico Jiang 2026

This flamenco guitar was built in 2026 by Chinese luthier Federico Jiang at his workshop in Guangzhou, also known as Canton, China. Jiang began building guitars driven by his passion for Spanish music and, particularly, flamenco, initially working as a self-taught maker while meticulously studying different instruments and construction methods. Throughout his career, he has developed a profound dedication to the study of the Spanish guitar-making tradition, producing reproductions and interpretations of instruments by some of the great historical masters, including Antonio de Torres, Vicente Arias, Robert Bouchet, José Romanillos and Louis Panormo. His work, characterised by meticulous attention to construction and a constant search for the instrument’s individual sonic character, has established him as one of the most recognised Spanish-guitar makers in China, with concert-level instruments in both the classical and flamenco traditions.

The woods selected for this flamenco guitar are truly exceptional. The German spruce top features a highly pronounced, straight and remarkably uniform grain, while the back and sides are made from cypress of exceptional beauty and quality. The finishes are simple and elegant, displaying an impeccable level of craftsmanship, with exceptionally clean workmanship and meticulous attention to every detail.

This is the first Federico Jiang guitar we have added to our collection, and we could not be more pleased with the discovery. We met the maker during his stay in Spain, where he was taking part in the prestigious Antonio Marín International Guitar Making Competition, in which he was awarded a joint third prize in the classical guitar category. We had the opportunity to personally play one of his guitars, and the impression was simply extraordinary. We were genuinely surprised to find such a high level of craftsmanship and, above all, such remarkable tonal quality in a Chinese maker. Its sound is deeply flamenco, bright, clear and full of life, with truly exceptional projection and surprising sustain for an instrument of this nature. It was one of those guitars that speaks for itself and made us certain, from the very first moment, that we wanted to include Federico Jiang among the makers represented in our catalogue of new guitars.

The guitar has a medium tension, with a very well-balanced string height both along the fingerboard and at the saddle, providing the guitarist with excellent comfort in both hands and an effortless playing response.

The condition of the guitar is new.
