This flamenco guitar has been made by the master luthier Felipe Conde Crespo, 2018, son of Felipe Conde and heir of one of the most important firms in guitar history: Hermanos Conde. This young luthier has proved he is talented enough, to say the least, for guitar making. His intruments have a careful and down-to-detail making, with a sound of the highest quality, keeping their timbre and strength typical of this firm, but also instilling his distinctive personality. There is no doubt Felipe Conde Crespo gathers all qualities necessary in order to be one the best guitar makers in Spain, and the perfect heir for the firm he represents. Those qualities are devotion and love for his work, music and the guitar.
This guitar is made with high quality and beautiful woods. The top has got a straight and even grain all along its surface; the back and sides have been made with cypress wood of outstanding quality, having a very beautiful cut with an optimal seasoning process. Felipe Conde Crespo has provided his own contributions as regards, thickness, densities… to the original template of the guitars of the time of Philip V, resulting in an unbeatable guitar, capable of making us feel and remember the music of the great geniuses in our own hands.
Specially remarkable has to be the headstock: a traditional one, but with an internal mechanism, making accurate tuning possible, without the disadvantages of the old wooden headstocks, combining thus the beauty of the latter with the accuracy and convenience of the modern mechanical headstock.
The sound coming out of this guitar is simply spectacular, because of the volume in particular and the quality in general: the basses are powerful and deep, with an incredibly flamenco sound. The trebles are well-defined, with an amazing scope. This instrument has a mature sound, something that definitely evolved, with that “bouqué” the best flamenco guitars acquire along the years. It is extremely difficult to combine all those qualities in a new guitar. However, knowledge, but due to this young maker’s knowledge and remarkable talent, results have been superb
The tension is medium, with a very balanced height between strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing us with a high degree of comfort for both hands.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is brand new.
