This flamenco guitar was made by the master guitar maker Geoff Rashe, 2023. Geoff Rashe understood the fusion of art and science since he was really young. First, as an Applied Maths student, at California University (San Diego). Then, he moved to the design and making of surfboards, while he was studying to get his Literature degree. Surf and his study of Spanish language led him to moving to Spain in 1990, starting an everlasting relationship with Spanish art and music, and very particularly, with the flamenco guitar. When he made his first guitar, he felt he had found his true vocation. As it was impossible to find master luthiers to teach him in California, he started an obsessive search for guitars made by the very best luthiers in history. Eventually, he collected some of the best instruments made by Manuel Ramírez, Santos Hernández, Domingo Esteso, Hermanos Conde, Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes and Marcelo Barbero. He studied these instruments down to the tiniest detail. In fact, he considered these luthier his own mentors. Currently, Geoff Rashe lives in his hometown: Santa Cruz, California.
The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.
We were waiting for this moment: this duo of guitars from this craftsman. Ever since we ordered them, we were anxious to get them. The first instrument we had by him! SEE NEW
Guitars made by Geoff are a real wonder, with overwhelming personality which leaves nobody indifferent. This blanca one in particular has magnificent sound, a big one, with a strumming which reminds us of Madrid school of Santos and Barbero, but with much higher volume. The trebles are “pure honey”, with beautiful harmonics and perfectly accurate tuning. Geoff is no doubt, along with Lester Devoe, one of the greatest makers nowadays, and the flamenco guitar ambassador in the USA.
The tension of the guitar is middle, and the height of the strings in saddle and fingerboard perfect, really balanced, which grants the performer a high degree of comfort for both hands.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is new.
