Flamenco guitar Geoffrey Rashe 2026

This flamenco guitar was built by master luthier Geoff Rashe in 2026. Geoff Rashe understood the union of art and science from a very young age. First as a student of Applied Mathematics at the University of California, San Diego, he later transitioned into the design and construction of surfboards while earning a degree in General Literature. Surfing and the study of the Spanish language led him to move to Spain in 1990, beginning a lifelong love affair with Spanish art, music, and above all, flamenco guitar. When he built his first guitar, he felt he had found his true calling. Due to the difficulty of finding master luthiers willing to teach him the secrets and methods of guitar making in California, he began a relentless and obsessive search for guitars built by the finest flamenco guitar makers in history. Over time, he assembled outstanding examples by Manuel Ramírez, Santos Hernández, Domingo Esteso, the Conde Brothers, Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes, and Marcelo Barbero. He studied these instruments down to the smallest detail to the point of considering these great artisans his true masters. Geoff Rashe currently resides in his hometown of Santa Cruz, California.

For all these reasons, owning a guitar by Geoff Rashe is not merely holding a high-level instrument in your hands; it is investing in a true masterpiece that will, over time, increase in both artistic and patrimonial value. Today, renowned guitarists such as Maestro Diego del Morao place their trust in his instruments for both live performances and studio recordings. SEE NEWS

The woods used in the construction of this flamenco guitar are of truly exceptional quality and have undergone a long natural drying process. The soundboard has been crafted from genuine German spruce, selected for its spectacular straight, uniform, and highly pronounced grain, while the back and sides are made from extremely high-quality Spanish cypress, lightweight, resonant, and of extraordinary natural beauty. The combination of these noble woods provides the instrument with an elegant aesthetic and the authentic character of the great traditional flamenco guitars.

The sound of this flamenco guitar is simply unbeatable. One only needs to hear a single chord to realize that this is the work of one of the five greatest contemporary flamenco guitar makers. The basses are thick, deep, and full-bodied, yet at the same time retain exceptional brightness and definition, something very difficult to achieve even in top-level instruments. The trebles are sharp, crystalline, and feature impressive sustain, allowing every note to sing with strength, clarity, and harmonic richness. The sound literally explodes outward from the guitar with spectacular projection, filling the room effortlessly. Its response speed is absolutely extraordinary, delivering that immediate and lively sensation sought after by the finest flamenco guitarists. Every rasgueado carries that unmistakable dry and hollow flamenco character, while picado passages and solo playing respond with precision, speed, and impeccable note separation.

This guitar features the highly appreciated “rebound” feel in the right hand combined with exceptional softness in the left hand, achieving the “perfect instrument” for playing comfortably for hours without fatigue and with an effortless sensation.

The condition of the guitar is new.
