Flamenco guitar Gerundino Hijo 2018

This flamenco guitar was made by the luthier Gerundino Fernández Llamas, son of the great maker Gerundino Fernández, in 2018. Born in 1974 in Almería, he started helping his father with guitar making since he was really young. He helped with tasks such as sanding woods, put pawns, glue bottoms and tops, etc). His link with wood goes beyond guitar making. That is, he knows a lot about this material, since he used to go with his uncle Eladio Fernández for spotting, cutting and selecting the best woods, which his father would later employ for his guitar making. For several years he devoted himself to the in-depth study of the guitar, and to a comprehensive revision of his father´s whole career. In 2015 he decided to continue the family tradition, thus starting to make his own guitars, using the techniques, tools and woods inherited from his father.

The different kinds of wood picked for this guitar are really exclusive. The canadian cedar of the sound top shows a truly smooth grain, straight and uniform through the entire surface. The back and sides are made of Bazilian rosewood with a amazing grain and beautiful colors.

The sound of this guitar is just spectacular.. A specially flamenco timbre which is full of personality and character. The basses are hoarse and deep, with a somewhat “hollow” sound which we curiously find in its trebles, too. This enhances and counterbalances the overall qualities brilliantly, ultimately, a perfect sound that show us the greatness of this master guitar-maker.

This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfectly balanced height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent, without any cracks or repairs.
