GOOD NEWS FOR ALL MUSICIANS WORLDWIDE!!!

The music industry has been represented in the CITES parts Conference recently, and we are proud to announce an exception has been accomplished for musical instruments!

Since 2 January 2017, several kinds of wood were included in the Appendix II of CITES, (Entry #15 specifically), all Dalbergia and Bubinga woods.

From then on, a number of firms of the music industry have struggled in order to modify this entry. They intented to attain an exception excluding musical instruments from the scope of this law.

We can now say this struggle has not been in vain, and it can finally be announced that these products, among others, will be excluded from the restrictions of this law:

“FINISHED MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, FINISHED PARTS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, FINISHED ACCESORIES OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS”

Nevertheless, imports and exports of these woods will still need their CITES authorization for some time. THIS CHANGE WILL COME INTO FORCE FROM DECEMBER 2019.
