Flamenco guitar Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso 1972

This flamenco guitar was built in the landmark workshop Gravina Street No. 7 by the nephews of the master luthier Domingo Esteso, then run by brothers Faustino and Mariano Conde. Many were the figures who passed through this workshop suing their guitars as Paco de Lucia, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela… and much more.

The woods of this flamenco guitar are simply perfect. The soundboard is made of German spruce with a straight and uniform grain throughout its surface. The back and sides are made of an extraordinary cypress. The finish is typical of the Conde Hermanos brand: simple and elegant.

This flamenco guitar from the popular Madrid-based firm has especially captivated us with its tone, strongly reminding us of the sound of great masters like Pepe Habichuela, Parrilla, or Paco Cepero. It has that deep and resonant voice in the basses, yet clear and crisp in the rasgueos and alzapúas. The trebles are pure crystal, with astonishing projection and clarity.

This guitar has the much sought-after “rebound” feel in the right hand, combined with spectacular smoothness in the left hand and only 2.1 millimeters of action at the 12th fret, making it the perfect instrument to play for hours and hours without fatigue and with a pleasant sensation of ease.

The condition is very good and entirely original. It has two small cracks on the upper side, repaired only with glue. From the outside, they may give the false impression of being more numerous or deeper, but when viewed from the inside, we can see they are actually very superficial.
