This flamenco guitar was built in the iconic workshop at 7 Gravina Street by the nephews of master luthier Domingo Esteso, then run by Faustino and Mariano Conde. Many legendary artists passed through this workshop seeking their guitars, such as Paco de Lucía, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela, and many others.
The woods used in this flamenco guitar are of the highest quality. The spruce top shows a very straight, even, and well-defined grain throughout its surface. The sides and back, made of cypress, display exceptional beauty and quality.
This flamenco guitar is very special, as it is unsigned — something we actually consider positive. Many of these were first-class guitars sold without signature, allowing professionals to acquire them at a more affordable price under the commitment not to resell them. For this reason, in many cases (as with this one), these guitars are superior to the signed first-class models. This is little-known information that we love to share, as it offers a truer understanding of these instruments — contrary to the common belief that unsigned guitars were of lesser quality. Nothing could be further from the truth!
The sound of this flamenco guitar is absolutely wonderful — it carries the authentic and genuine tone of the best Hermanos Conde guitars from the 1970s. Its power, the crispness of the rasgueado, and the clarity and definition of every note in arpeggios, tremolos, and picados are simply unmatched. A true gem of an instrument that should not be missed!
This guitar offers the highly valued “rebounding” right-hand feel combined with an exceptionally smooth left-hand playability, achieving the perfect instrument for playing comfortably for hours with ease and pleasure. The string height is very low — 2.2 mm at the fretboard and 7 mm at the bridge.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent, showing only a minor superficial crack on the back, perfectly repaired and documented in the attached images.
