Flamenco guitar Ignacio Paricio 2024 nº76

This flamenco guitar was built by the maestro luthier Ignacio Paricio in 2024. Ignacio Paricio was born in Barcelona in 1970. Before he started learning how to become a guitar maker, he worked as a professional model maker. In this profession, he learned to use high-precision machinery for working on both wood and methacrylate. His passion for the guitar led him to leave it all behind, and move to Granada in 1995 in order to learn guitar making with Manuel and Jesús Bellido. Some time later, after starting his own workshop in Granada, he would move to Barcelona, where he combined the guitar making with some jobs in set design, both for cinema and theatre. In 2008 he decided to focus o guitar making only, specializing in flamenco guitar. Ignacio uses Santos Hernández templates, and Manuel Bellido´s making system, with some small modifications which provide his guitars with personality, without losing the essence of the most traditional flamenco guitar.

The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.

Ignacio Paricio amazes us with an instrument that embodies everything we, just like any professional or art and sound enthusiast, seek in a flamenco guitar. The sound that emanates from this guitar exceeds all expectations: Its flamenco tone is sensational, with that distinctive ‘hollow’ effect, which is especially noticeable in strumming. Its projection and resonance become palpable through the vibrations that resonate throughout the instrument.

The tension is medium, and the height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, very balanced, all of which provides the guitar with an easy performance and a high degree of comfort for both hands.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is new.
