This flamenco guitar was built by the guitar maker Javier Castaño in 2021. Javier Castaño was born in Madrid in 1974, and by the age of fourteen he already stood out for his passion for flamenco guitar and began playing the instrument. At the age of twenty-two, he started his career as a guitar maker, attending several courses with Master Rafael López Porras in Cádiz. In 2008, he began working fully dedicated to the Madrid school of guitar making, a turning point in his career that allowed him to acquire the knowledge and techniques of this great tradition of master luthiers. In 2014, he started working directly with the Conde Hermanos workshop on Atocha Street, shaping the instrument and giving it the sound of his great master Julio Conde.
The woods used for its construction are truly beautiful. The soundboard is made of German spruce, featuring a very marked, straight, and uniform grain that confirms its outstanding quality. The back and sides are crafted from exceptionally beautiful and high-quality cypress.
Particularly noteworthy are the traditional wooden friction pegs, fitted with an internal mechanism that provides precise tuning without the inconveniences of old-style wooden pegs, combining their traditional beauty with the precision and practicality of modern mechanical tuners.
This flamenco guitar has a truly exceptional sound. It stands out for its great projection, clarity, and quick response, offering deep and well-defined basses together with bright trebles full of nuances. Its balanced and characterful tone delivers that authentic flamenco essence, with a powerful attack and excellent note separation. In addition, its resonance and sustain provide a lively, expressive sound full of personality, ideal both for accompaniment and for falsetas and solo playing.
This guitar features the highly appreciated “rebound” feel in the right hand combined with exceptional softness in the left hand, achieving the “perfect instrument” for playing comfortably for hours without fatigue and with an effortless sensation.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completely original, with no cracks or repairs of any kind.
