This flamenco guitar was made by Javier Castaño in 2023. Javier Castaño was born in Madrid in 1974. Aged 14, he was really skilled, and his playing, really touching. When he was 22, he started his career as a guitar maker, taking several courses with Maestro Rafael López Porras, in Cádiz. In 2008 he completely devoted himself to the Madrid school. It is now when his career as a guitar maker takes a whole new direction, acquiring the knowledge and technique from this school of maestros. In 2014 he began working directly with the firm Conde Hermanos, in Atocha Street, shaping and providing the instrument with Julio Conde´s sound.
The woods used for its construction are really precious. The top is made of canadian cedar, with an outlined grain, straight and smooth, that endorse its exceptional quality. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty.
Specially remarkable has to be the headstock: a traditional one, but with an internal mechanism, making accurate tuning possible, without the disadvantages of the old wooden headstocks, combining thus the beauty of the latter with the accuracy and convenience of the modern mechanical headstock.
This flamenco guitar is exceptional. It has an absolutely unparalelled volume, apart from a perfect balance among all its strings along the fingerboard. Additionally, its high comfort and its unmistakably flamenco timbre all make it the perfect instrument! Javier Castaño has managed to evolve very positively in the last years, resulting in a new position for him as one of the best guitar makers today. This huge evolution can be easily understood if one just talks to him, as he is a great flamenco lover, and his perfectionist way of working have led him to the high position he is in at present.
This guitar has the highly-valued “rebound beating” on the right hand, combined with fantastic softness on the left one, thus accomplishing the “perfect instrument”, should we want to spend hours and hours playing non-stop with a nice feeling of ease.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is brand new.
