Flamenco guitar Juan Montero 1975 nº517

This flamenco guitar was built by the well-known guitar maker Juan Montero Aguilera, from Córdoba in 1975. Rafael Riqueni, Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, or Luis Calderito are just some of the few performers who have praised and played his magnificent guitars.

This guitar is made of excellent woods. The top has got a completely straight and even grain. Cypress wood in back and sides is of extraordinary quality, rather difficult to get these days. Elegant details in the finishes, rosette and the bridge can be found as well.

When we observe this wonderful guitar, we instantly perceive it was made with special affection, as it is an instrument which was specially made for a friend of maestro Juan Montero´s.
Regarding sound, we are before a guitar with a timbre from Córdoba, which we love, and reminds us of Miguel Rodríguez´s guitars, give or take some obvious differences.
Once more, we would like to highlight the fact that its price is clearly below its real value, thus making his guitars especially interesting in today´s market.

The tension is medium, and the height of the strings in the fingerboard and saddle is very balanced, providing us with a high level of comfort for both hands.

The condition of this guitar is really good, as it preserves the originality of all its parts, including the shellac varnish. It only has two small cracks on the bottom, perfectly repaired with glue. This kind of repair is highly valued, as it does not add any single element to the instrument, and guarantees a perfect stabilization.
