Flamenco guitar Manuel Reyes 1973

This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Manuel Reyes in 1973. His guitars are regarded as pieces of work, and him, as one of the greatest luthiers ever. In fact, his guitars have been (and are) played by some of the best performers ever: Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Jose Luis Postigo, Manolo Franco, and so many others.

This flamenco guitar is built with superior quality woods, impossible to obtain nowadays. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.

Specially remarkable has to be the headstock: a traditional one, but with an internal mechanism, making accurate tuning possible, without the disadvantages of the old wooden headstocks, combining thus the beauty of the latter with the accuracy and convenience of the modern mechanical headstock.

This flamenco guitar is the perfect instrument for any guitarist who wants to see, hear and feel the real sound of a Reyes guitar of 1970, as it has this unmistakable “broken” timbre, full of flamenco sound, which captivated the whole world, including so many experts. The strings height and adjustment which this guitar allows is simply perfect, this permits an extremely comfortable touch in both hands and an increase in fluidity when playing the instrument.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent. The shellac of the guitar was retouched in the 90s by a great craftsman, in a completely superficial way, nothing in depth. Consequently, the original width of the wood remained unaltered, just like its sound qualities.
