This classical guitar was made by Marcelino López Nieto in 1980. Marcelino López Nieto is one of the most representative and widely respected luthiers in Spain. Actually, his name is on the Summerfield list, where the names of best guitar makers are present since 1800. Just like so many luthiers in Spain, Marcelino worked as a cabinetmaker before he devoted himself to the instrument making. Practically self-taught, Marcelino López is one of the few makers in Madrid with no influence from Ramirez school, and his guitars are admired and praised by guitar players and lovers all over the world.
This classical guitar has belonged to Marcelino López Nieto’ s personal collection.
Amazing woods can be found in this piece of work: German spruce for the top, with a very straight and even grain all along its surface. The back and sides are made of Palo Rosa, an aesthetically marvelous wood due to its tones and grain, providing the guitar with great beauty and elegance.
The sound is really amazing, a perfect balance between basses and trebles and an incredibly flamenco timbre that sublimely combines power and volume with quality and perfect pitch.
The tension of this classical guitar is medium, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard very balanced, achieving a high degree of comfort for both hands.
The condition of this classical guitar is excellent and completely original, without any kind of cracks or repairs whatsoever.
