María del Tango

Born on August 9, 1992, in the mountain village of Caniles, in the Sierra de Baza (Spain), María has been singing for as long as she can remember. She began performing saetas at the age of nine in her hometown and has been pursuing music professionally since 2018, when she moved to Granada’s historic Albaicín district. There, she started performing as a street musician and in flamenco venues, eventually appearing at renowned tablaos such as Casa Patas.

Throughout her career, María has collaborated with artists from a wide range of musical styles, including Juanito Makandé, Jarabe de Palo, Jerónimo Maya, Jorge Pardo, Josemi Carmona, and many others.

She considers herself a passionate lover of music in all its forms, with a particular devotion to flamenco, copla, and poetry. Her greatest artistic influences are Enrique Morente and Camarón de la Isla, although she has been listening to the singing of Tomás Pavón and La Niña de los Peines since she was a child.
