MORENTE, by Toni Abellán. Tribute to the master Vicente Amigo

This week we present Toni Abellán’s flamenco guitar in a very special production with which the artist pays tribute to the master Vicente Amigo.

Toni Abellán is one of the most promising flamenco artists in Catalonia. Toni Abellán discovered his passion for the flamenco guitar when he was only 8, encouraged by his passion for guitarists such as Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo and Tomatito. He started his training with different maestros, like Rafael Cañizares.

His passion and devotion for music has been, from the very beginning, constant, which has led him to learn and explore different styles and genres, such as jazz or classical and contemporary music, opening new musical horizons, but always respecting flamenco identity.

In today’s production we offer you a masterpiece by Vicente Amigo: Morente, a granaína that appears in his first solo album “De Mi corazón Al Aire” (1991).

An everlasting work, full of emotion and feeling, masterfully performed by our friend Toni Abellán, who pays tribute to one of the most influential figures in the development of his musical career.

A track played on a 1999 Lester Devoe builder’s guitar, chosen especially for the occasion, as it allows a more accurate approach to the master’s sound. As many will know, Lester Devoe is one of his preferences when it comes to recording many of the tracks on his albums.

Enjoy it!
