Flamenco guitar Pedro de Miguel 1998 Ex Miguel Ángel Cortés

This flamenco guitar was built by the firm Pedro Miguel of Madrid, his guitars have been chosen by renowned guitarists as Josemi Carmona, Rafael Riqueni, Gerardo Núñez, Jeronimo Maya… among others.

This flamenco guitar belonged to the master Miguel Ángel Cortés, one of the most important artists of today’s flamenco both in concert and accompanying guitar. Specially made for the artist, along with two other identical guitars for Pepe Habichuela and José Quevedo “Bolita”, this guitar was made by the luthier Pedro Pérez (1958-2008) in 1998, the time of the maximum splendor of this firm from Madrid, in our opinion.

The master Miguel Ángel Cortés has used this instrument in countless concerts throughout his career, as well as to record the legendary didactic DVD ‘La Guitarra Flamenca de Miguel Ángel Cortés’ produced by Encuentro.

The woods employed for this guitar is German spruce for the top and indian rosewood for back and sides. The top has got a very marked, straight and even grain along its whole surface. The back and sides are made of indian rosewood with an outstanding quality and beauty.

The sound of this guitar is spectacular. It has a very ‘well-made’ tone thanks to the countless hours the artist has spent playing with it. It truly is an exceptional instrument, possibly the best signature guitar we have seen from the company to date. The trebles give off infinite harmonics and sustain, with spectacular projection. The bass strings show us that hollow and deep timbre that we love so much and the strumming emits a pure tearing sound.

This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfect height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is very good. It has three cracks in the soundboard which are perfectly repaired and documented in the attached pictures.
