Pedro Javier González & Paquito González: “El Montañés”, new production on Solera Flamenca

On Solera Flamenca we are releasing something special this week: A new production by maestro Pedro Javier González and the percussionist Paquito González, also known as “El Montañés”: a beautiful composition, written by Pedro Javier, going straight to our video library of great productions.

Pedro Javier González is a guitarist and composer from Barcelona. He stands out as a guitarist due to his crystal-clear play, tempered and measured, as well as his musical versatility when it comes to adapting to different genres. Along his career, he has released eleven albums, and he has produced and collaborated with artists from different branches in classical, flamenco, jazz and pop-rock: Yoshimi Otani, Toti Soler, Feliu Gasull, Victoria de los Ángeles, El último de la fila, Joan Manuel Serrat, Lluis Llach, Maria del Mar Bonet, Manolo García, Paco Ortega, Mónica Molina, Angelo Branduardi, Manolo García or Roberto Alagna, among many others. A guitarist gifted with a flawless technique, as well as an exquisite musical taste we have the privilege to enjoy when recording all of our guitars.

On that occasion, apart from enjoying Pedro Javier Gonzalez´s guitar, we had the pleasure of counting on a luxury collaborator: Paquito González. The drummer Paquito González got initiated with Maestro Manolo Sanlúcar, and ever since his box-drum has accompanied artists as important as Vicente Amigo, Joaquín Grilo, Miguel Poveda… and a long etcetera. He has a great sense of rhythm and good taste to accompany the artist, respecting the musicality, interacting and keeping the dialogue with the melody and the performer. All of this makes him one of the most prestigious and representative drummers of flamenco panorama nowadays.

During the recording, Maestro Pedro Javier González made us enjoy to the rhythm of tanguillo with a composition of his own titled “El Montañés”, one of the many gems in his next album. A video recorded with a guitar by craftsmen Jesús de Jiménez, 2018, an incredible guitar, made by one of the best guitar makers nowadays, with incredible sound, and a powerful flamenco touch, just like our protagonist’s talent. WE HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!
