Guitar Vda. y Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso 1959

This guitar was built in the landmark workshop Gravina Street No. 7 by the nephews of the master luthier Domingo Esteso, then run by brothers Faustino, Julio and Mariano Conde. Many were the figures who passed through this workshop suing their guitars as Paco de Lucia, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela… and much more.

The rosette, inspired in Marcelo Barbero, is really beautiful, and the wood employed for its making is simply unbeatable, as regards quality and aesthetics. Brazilian rosewood has a grain which could be mistaken for Indian rosewood, but precisely this kind of grain obtains the best acoustic results in the guitar. The top, made of German spruce, has a thin even grain, really marked all along its surface.

This is a really interesting guitar, as it was conceived as a classical instrument, although having had the bones adjusted, in order to obtain a more flamenco timbre, thus combining the best of both worlds in a single instrument: a scope and volume clearly higher than the average flamenco guitar, but still with the typical personality and timbre expected of it. This guitar will undoubtedly satisfy the demands of both the classical and flamenco guitarist, as its sound is the epitome of Spanish music. A sound which several geniuses, such as Antonio de Torres or Manuel Ramírez managed to immortalize on their guitars, although unfortunately this kind of sound is almost impossible to find at present.

The condition is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever.
