This flamenco guitar has been made by master luthier Francisco Navarro in 2013. Francisco Navarro is one of the best makers in Mexico. In 1989 he won the 1st Prize in the Annual Contest of Paracho (Mexico). His guitars carry Torres´s influence, just like Contreras´s, Romanillos´s and so many other renowned Spanish luthiers. He became popular in Spain when maestro Vicente Amigo appeared in some shows and videos playing some of his guitars. In his concert flamenco guitars anyone can see Manuel Reyes´s influence on his development as a craftsman, with a very similar timbre to this genius from Cordoba, although preserving his own personality and identity.
Despite the admiration we feel towards this maker, we had never had any of his guitars in Solera Flamenca before. The fact of him living in Mexico makes it difficult to set the logistics and quality control properly. Its making system, as well as the quality of the finishes and its sound quality, are simply exceptional. No wonder maestro Vicente Amigo has always admired him and been really fond of him.
This flamenco guitar has been made with Canadian cedar and Indian rosewood/cypress of the best quality possible. A guitar which was originally made to be amplified, but we have decided not to, by covering the input hole and extracting the ampification system. This decision was taken due to the powerful volume of the guitar, and its extraordinary sound quality, which would have dramatically decreased, should the guitar have been amplified.
Its sound especially reminds us of a guitar from the 70s, made by the crafstman Manuel Reyes. We had this guitar, and we can not help but feel nostalgia of this kind of memories. The comfort it transmits is really exceptional, with mid-low beating, which favours really quick and fluent hands.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completely original, without any kind of cracks or repairs whatsoever.
